At Debbie Taussig Law, our commitment to helping those in need goes beyond our clients—it extends to animals, too. So, when Debbie’s Husky of 16 years, Aspen, passed away, she knew she was destined to continue the Husky legacy. As luck would have it, a white Husky/German Shepherd mix was in desperate need of a new home, and

Debbie and her husband Dave were the perfect fit for sweet dog they named Willow.

Willow was the first of the FOUR Huskies that Debbie and Dave adopted over the last few years, and her story is an extraordinary one. You have all heard Nessie, Bri, and Max’s stories…and now it is time for Willow!

Willow was found abandoned in a house in New Mexico.

To make matters worse, she had just delivered a litter of puppies. She was so very scared, and she was doing the best she could to survive.

Jailbreak Husky Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming Huskies, found out about Willow and her puppies and stepped in to get them the help they deserved.

As soon as the puppies were old enough, Willow and her litter were flown on a small plane from New Mexico to Colorado, where Jailbreak Husky Rescue is based. The skies were turbulent that day, but Willow was making a break for a new life.

When Debbie met Willow in 2020—it was love at first sight. At first, Willow was nervous in her new surroundings and hesitant to trust new faces. She would shiver and shake over her fear about what was going to happen to her. However, it was clear to see that with Debbie, it was different. She quickly formed a deep bond with her, following Debbie wherever she went.

Willow’s gentle yet resilient spirit is an inspiration to all of us, and we’re so grateful she’s found her forever home with Debbie and Dave. One-by-one Debbie and Dave have added 3 more rescued Huskies to their home, creating a full pack and giving Willow a new life!

We’re thrilled to share Willow’s journey as part of our firm’s story—a reminder of the importance of compassion, patience, and the incredible transformations possible when we lend a helping hand. Keep an eye out for more updates on Willow (as well as Max, Bri, and Nessie) and their adventures with us at Debbie Taussig Law!
